I've never read Nick Hornby before and this book makes me want to pick up the rest of his "Stuff I'm Reading" columns from Believer magazine. The first half of this book had me writing down book recommendations and quotes while laughing out loud. After that, though, things seemed to level off. Maybe Hornby's book choices veered away from my own likes. Perhaps he is best enjoyed in short doses, like the columns these were originally printed as. Maybe the kids loudly playing their DSs on the train wouldn't let me concentrate. ~shrug~ Whatever it is, it won't stop me from seeking out more of his work.
